For starters, we ordered grilled Miroč cheese. For the main course, we had veal cooked under the sač, stuffed chicken with young cheese and chard, and cabbage salad on the side. We also ordered a portion of homemade bread baked in a traditional oven, and it was worth every penny. We had never tried bread with such a crispy crust and such a perfectly soft inside before.
This is truly a place where you can enjoy homemade food prepared with love. During the pork-processing season, the hosts organize a full-day gathering where, for symbolic prices, you can try all kinds of specialties. They also have excellent homemade strudel, soup, and sausages. Throughout the year, they also organize the preparation of winter preserves, making this a truly special place where the menu is adapted to the season, which is really worthy of praise.
The atmosphere is idyllic. As you walk toward the restaurant, you pass along a paved path, surrounded by beautiful nature on both the left and right sides. At the entrance to the restaurant, we met a cat and a dog, and it was clear that they enjoy life on the salaš, where they have plenty of food.
This is a true salaš, with details such as a traditional Smederevac stove, stone, and wood. The interior is extremely warm and welcoming, with enough space even for larger celebrations.
It is also a great place to escape the fast pace of everyday life, where for a few hours you can forget about work and daily obligations and enjoy nature and good food.
The waiters are pleasant and truly make an effort to recommend what is fresh that day and to offer local specialties. When we visited during lunchtime, there were also tamburica musicians, which made the whole experience even better.
We also noticed that the owner constantly keeps an eye on reservations and how the team is functioning, which is a good sign that nothing is left to chance.
Although this is a very busy place, with guests constantly changing at the tables, it seemed that the staff were well organized and that everything ran smoothly. It is worth mentioning that you should make a reservation in advance, especially if you are not nearby, so you do not travel all that way only to be left without a table.
