We tried a variety of dishes, including veal round in gravy, homemade ćevapi, and pork bajadere, which were excellent, as well as pork fillet in sauce. Their Zlatar trout is also outstanding. What is quite rare for restaurants in Novi Sad is that they bring you a complimentary appetizer here, a mix of several spreads prepared by the restaurant staff for the occasion, and we would especially praise the crackling spread. It is a wonderful gesture that clearly shows they want to make their guests feel welcome. Our only criticism is that they have added standard international dishes, such as risotto and pasta, to the menu, which we feel do not really belong in a traditional Serbian restaurant. However, because of the effort and the quality of the food, Suvenir still remains on our list of recommended restaurants.
The ambience is beautiful, with reed and wood dominating the design, a very large and bright indoor space, and a huge garden outside. Attention is paid to every detail, and it is truly clear that the guest comes first here. You need to reserve your table in advance, especially on weekends. The restaurant is also popular with the business crowd, and whenever we visited, we would see a group of around 10 to 15 people celebrating important occasions here, so the space is also excellent for smaller celebrations.
The service is perfect. A hostess greets you at the entrance and escorts you to your table, while the waiters truly move quickly around the guests. The small touches that make all the difference, pouring wine, clearing dishes on time, and pairing drinks with food, are exactly what you can expect here, making you feel genuinely well looked after.
