Fazan Restaurant

We visited the national restaurant Kod Fazana 1822 several times – for breakfast, for an evening outing, and for a snack followed by tamburica musicians.

The menu is quite diverse. For breakfast, we had creamy scrambled eggs and the Grandmother’s breakfast (fried bread served with cured meats and cheese). Later, while enjoying the tamburica music, we ordered a platter for two, which included a mix of cured meats, excellent rolled cheeses, and homemade pork cracklings.

The space is beautiful, located right in the heart of the city, yet tucked away from the noise, surrounded by greenery. Attention has clearly been paid to details – everything evokes the charm of past times, with wood and white tones dominating the interior.

On weekends, guests often stay late, enjoying live tamburica music, and the restaurant occasionally hosts wine evenings, where, with a purchased ticket, you can taste wines from local producers.

The space is large enough for smaller celebrations, and we often see people working on their laptops in the garden area, making it a suitable, relaxed working environment as well.

It is particularly commendable that the restaurant sources cured meat products from local farms and cheeses from local dairies, directly supporting small local producers.

As a curiosity, you should try the house specialties Pašteta Pijana Koka and Pašteta Mondensko Prase – the first made from chicken liver, and the second from pork shoulder and chicken liver.
